Steel Mesh Heat Resistant Mitt

Extreme Anti Cut, Heat and Fire Resistance

Built for foundries, forging shops, glass plants, and other high-temperature workplaces, this heat-resistant mitt combines multiple protective materials to handle both heat and cutting hazards.

The outer surface is made from stainless steel ring mesh, providing reliable protection against sharp metal edges, burrs, and abrasive materials. Directly beneath the mesh is a knitted aramid layer, which helps withstand high temperatures and exposure to sparks or open flames.

A cotton insulation layer is added to reduce heat transfer when handling hot parts for extended periods. The inside of the mitt is lined with Kevlar® fabric, creating a comfortable barrier between the hand and the insulation system while adding extra durability.

The long Kevlar® cuff extends protection beyond the wrist and helps reduce exposure to radiant heat, flying sparks, and accidental contact with hot surfaces.

Designed for demanding industrial environments where heat resistance, cut protection, and durability are equally important.

Key Characteristics

High-Performance Materials:

Made from strong, high-performance fibers such as HPPE (like Dyneema), Kevlar, or sometimes combined with stainless steel mesh for maximum protection.

Highest ANSI Cut Level:

Rated ANSI Level A9 under the current standard, which signifies the highest degree of cut resistance.

Protection Against Severe Hazards:

Engineered to protect against extreme cut hazards found in industries like metal fabrication, glass handling, and certain food processing tasks involving sharp knives.

Specialized Designs:

Some extreme cut gloves are available in thin, 21-gauge versions, offering a balance of protection and dexterity or can be worn as a liner under nitrile gloves for enhanced safety.

When to Use Extreme Cut Resistant Gloves

Heavy Industry:

Ideal for workers in manufacturing, construction, and cargo handling who encounter sharp edges, machinery, or broken materials.

Food Processing:

Essential for chefs, butchers, and fish processors who use sharp knives and mandolines to prevent severe cuts.

Glass and Metal Work:

Provides critical protection for those who handle sharp metal objects or glass.

How to Choose

Check the ANSI Rating:

Look for gloves with the highest possible ANSI A9 cut level for extreme applications.

Consider the Material:

HPPE, Kevlar, and metal mesh are excellent choices, but your specific task might dictate the best material.

Match to Your Task:

Even for extreme protection, consider if you need superior dexterity for fine tasks or more robust, potentially thicker gloves for heavy-duty use.
