Split leather is the bottom part of the leather after being split. When the leather is first removed from the hide of an animal, it’s extremely thick. So, first we need to split it into layers and the bottom layer is “split-leather.”

 

Split leather is much cheaper but also with high abrasion resistance, normally it is used for making work gloves and has a nappy appearance. Split-leather has several different advantages. Split-leather is soft, high abrasion resistance, flexible and durable.

 

It is all purpose and very effective when it comes to general protection in work environments or construction zones.
