Fully coated gloves keep out moisture, dirt, and cold air. A second textured layer on the palm can then boost grip.
The right call depends on the job. Wet fishing or handling snow-covered materials points to a full coating. Construction or warehouse work usually feels better in a palm-coated version.
Questions to Ask Before You Order
Don't order winter gloves on appearance and thickness alone. Confirm a few things first:
- Dry, wet, or oily conditions?
- How low does the temperature actually get?
- Do workers need to handle small components?
- Is cut or abrasion resistance required?
- Should the glove resist water over the whole hand?
- Will it be worn continuously for hours?
- Does the coating stay flexible after cold exposure?
And test gloves in real working conditions. A grip that scores well in a warm indoor office doesn't necessarily hold up outdoors in winter.
